    • Interacts with children according to their individual learning style and developmental period (from birth through age 8) with physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, and linguistic activities

    • Works towards planning learning activities that allow children of all backgrounds to feel included
    • Offers early symbolic language with underpinnings in reading and math that is age appropriate and developmentally appropriate for each child

    • Uses approved assessments accurately and ethically
    • Aggregates and interprets data collected on each child to plan for learning activities
    • Maintains accurate and coherent records and reports, and shares information only when appropriate
    • Complies with relevant federal, state, and local requirements around mandated reporting and health and safety, expectations for screening and assessment of child development, and, if applicable, supports for children with disabilities
  • Develops reciprocal, culturally responsive relationships with families and communities
    • Creates an environment of inclusion for all families in the classroom by ensuring multiple cultures are equally represented in all areas including books, language and posters
    • Respects and values parents and/or caregivers as a member of the teaching team where their input is included in decisions related planning for each child
