- Plan and prepare each operation of the production
- Review blueprints or written specifications for a job
- Calculate where to cut or bore into the work piece
- Select tools and materials for the job
- Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations
- Set the controls, and make the cuts
- Monitor the feed rate and speed of the machine
- Ensure that the work piece is being properly lubricated and cooled
- Use both simple and highly sophisticated measuring tools to check accuracies
- Work with CNC control programmers on CNC programs
- Maintain a safe working environment _ OHSA education
- Perform maintenance work„repairing making adjustments to existing machinery
