    • 1. Test combustible appliances, such as gas appliances.
    • 2. Determine amount of air leakage in buildings using a blower door machine.
    • 3. Test and diagnose air flow systems, using furnace efficiency analysis equipment.
    • 4. Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Preparation, Installation & Maintenance of Building Materials
    • 1. Install and seal air ducts, combustion air openings, or ventilation openings to improve heating and cooling efficiency.
    • 2. Prepare and apply weather-stripping, glazing, caulking or door sweeps to reduce energy losses.
    • 3. Apply spackling, compounding or other materials to repair holes in walls.
    • 4. Apply insulation materials, such as loose blanket, crawl spaces, basements or walls.
    • 5. Insulate mobile homes and houses.
  • Inspection of Work Site
    • 1. Inspect buildings to identify required weatherization measures including repair work, modification or replacement.
    • 2. Make minor repairs using basic hand or power tools and materials such as glass, lumber and drywall.
  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills
    • 1. Communicate with clients about products, procedures and policies.
    • 2. Recommend weatherization techniques to clients in accordance with needs and applicable energy regulations, codes, policies or statutes.
    • 3. Contact residents or building owners to schedule appointments.
    • 4. Explain recommendations, policies, procedures, requirements or other related information to residents or building owners.
    • 5. Explain energy conservation measures such as the use of low flow showerheads and energy-efficient lighting.
  • Maintenance of Operational & Environmental Data
    • 1. Maintain activity logs, financial transaction logs or other records including operational and environmental data for weatherization work performed.
    • 2. Prepare or assist in the operation of bids, contracts or written operational reports related to weatherization work.
    • 3. Become proficient on Hancock software platform.
  • Inspect Doors and Windows
    • 1. Perform air sealing on doors, windows and exterior walls.
    • 2. Inspect installed storm windows and doors to ensure proper installation.
  • Basic Working Knowledge of Power Tools
    • 1. Utilize power tools appropriately to apply weatherization measures.
  • Conduct Work in Compliance with Safety and Wellness Guidelines
    • 1. Conduct all work in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
    • 2. Report any safety issues to supervisor immediately upon discovery.
