  • Install and maintain electrical cables, conduit, wire control panels, relay panels, and station service equipment.
  • Work with Blueprints and Schematics integral to the field and shop practice of this trade
  • Install, maintain, and repair bus, insulators, supports, disconnects, gang operated air break switches, motor operators, structures and ground mat.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and test HV circuit breakers, circuit switchers, and fuses.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and test transformers, LTC's, regulators & capacitor banks.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and test motors, pumps, compressors, generators, and other rotating equipment.
  • Battery Overview: Install, maintain, repair, & test batteries, chargers, rotating equipment.
  • Set up and operate apparatus and test equipment such as Doble, Kelmann, etc.
  • Perform substation switching.
  • Testing and troubleshooting substation electrical and mechanical equipment to locate problems.
  • Operate various types of aerial equipment. Perform rigging.
  • Install & remove protective barriers and personal grounds using hot sticks and approved practices.
  • Installation, setup and test mobile transformers.
  • Orientation to the trade and to the employer crew requirements
