  • Protect self and other workers from accidents and injuries
    • Follow employer safety requirements, including the consistent and proper use of protective clothing and personal safety devices
    • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace, storing chemicals and corrosive or combustible materials properly and disposing of waste products according to company policies and local/federal laws and regulations
    • Use, store and maintain hand-tools properly to eliminate trip hazards, injury, electrocution or damage

    • Fully understand the escalation process for issues related to equipment and/or parts in kitting area.
    • Follow kitting process based on recommended takttime, production intervals, inspection intervals or production requirements; and escalate when behind
    • Maintain a neat and orderly work-space ensuring that work area is properly marked or cordoned off and eliminating or flagging potential trip hazards created by production materials or products
    • Use personal protection devices as necessary and maintain proper ergonomic positioning relative to equipment or machines, raw materials and production products
  • Set up, inspect and adjust work equipment prior to shift start
    • Set up equipment to meet specifications in work instructions
    • Inspect tools, equipment and surrounding work area
    • Adjust equipment to meet and maintain specifications in work instructions
    • Notify appropriate individual of potential problems with equipment or machine function, need for routine maintenance, or concerns about unusual sounds, vibrations, smells or production errors
  • Produce products that meet or exceed quality, volume and cost requirements
    • Observe production rate as compared to scheduled or projected rate, quantity or volume, and modify as necessary; notify appropriate individual of potential delays, under-production or potential additional capacity
    • Monitor production quality, including the inspection of parts and products, and troubleshoot if necessary to improve quality and
    • Perform product finishing according to production protocols
    • Document appropriate information, such as product quality parameters, lot numbers or other relevant information
    • Clearly and openly communicate concerns about quality or quantity of production with appropriate individual and colleagues in the production chain
    • Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities such as 5S and Kaizen events to help establish new norms after continuous improvement has taken place
    • Use multiple gauges and other items such as surface plates with dial indicators to monitor product quality
  • Gain working knowledge of Mechatronics
    • Understand use and be able to safely use hand tools and gauges required in area of work.
    • Understand basic AC electricity and basic DC electricity.
    • Successfully wire basic circuit board to power a lightbulb at 110 volts.
    • Successfully build pipe board to force air to gauge with minimal to no leaks.
    • Assemble and successfully program KUKA Lego TM robot.
    • Understand the basics of PLC Programming and its multiple uses throughout the Plant
  • Gain working knowledge of Repair
    • Understand and safely use necessary repair tools in the work area.
    • Understand and properly use diagnostic tools in the work area.
    • Successfully identify all components of vehicle in the work area.
    • Successfully use software and warehouse layout to locate parts needed for repairs in the work area.
    • Successfully locate vehicles in yard that are scheduled to be moved for repair work.
